Once I join TIP, how do I receive services?
You can receive TIP services by calling the TIP office 919-588-4748 or by emailing thriving@tipvillage.org.
Add the TIP phone number 919-588-4748 to your CONTACT list, so you recognize the number when a TIP dispatcher returns your call.
When calling or emailing to request a service:
- All phone calls are answered by the answering machine. Messages are checked frequently by the dispatcher Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Please leave a detailed message that includes:
- Your name and phone number
- The service that you need
- If the service is for transportation, include:
- Date and time of your appointment
- Complete address of your appointment
- Estimate of time to drive to the appointment
- Estimate of time the appointment will last
- Any special requests, such as the need for a van, SUV or sedan
- Please note that TIP is not able to accommodate people who are in need of a wheelchair or cannot transfer without assistance when getting into and out of a car.
- If the dispatcher has any questions, he/she will contact you.
- The dispatcher will send out a request email to a few TIP volunteers.
- A confirmation email will be sent to you with the name and phone number of the TIP volunteer that will be assisting you.
- The assigned volunteer will contact you a day or two before your service is to be provided. Please confirm the times and address so that there is no confusion.
- If you are not contacted within one day of your service, contact the assigned volunteer.
